As you begin your walk away from the cares of life, your mind will begin to focus on things the great outdoors has to offer -- peace, tranquility,  quietness, solitude, serenity, silence.  Leave your cares at the bridge and don't retrieve them on your return from the falls.

Experience quiet views of the surrounding forest.  A variety of tree species, bushes, and an abundance of flora will take you into a wonderland many people only dream of entering.  During warmer months, you will encounter other people along the trail fairly frequently.  In cooler weather, like winter, you will find more solitude.

You might encounter people fishing in the river or some wading in the creek.  It is a great activity on those hot summer days.

It is not unusual to see wildlife in this serene area.  Wild turkeys, red foxes, black bears, and river otters occasionally make an appearance.  Be sure to have your camera ready so you can capture events at every turn.  Remember that disturbing wildlife or removing flora from the National Park is not acceptable.  If you do encounter a black bear, do not approach it or turn your back on it.  Slowly back away and, if necessary, raise your hands to make it appear you are larger than the bear and make loud sounds.
